Last week the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo announced its new flagship phone: the Vivo Xplay 3S.
On the company’s Sina Weibo account we can read that this new phone will have an innovative feature: it will be the world’s first smartphone with a 2K HD screen. According to the company this Quad HD smartphone will be equipped with a whooping 2,560 x 1,440 pixels screen.
This means the Xplay 3S, which is expected to use a 5.5-inch Quad HD panel made by LG, will have more pixels than a full-size iPad! Translated into pixels per inch (ppi) the Xplay 3S will have a stunning 538 ppi!
As the world’s leading smartphone brands such as Apple, Samsung, LG, Motorola and HTC haven’t released smartphones with such screen features yet, the Xplay 3S once again is a good example of how Chinese smartphone manufacturers are quickly leapfrogging its western counterparts.
